Dr. John H. Armstrong, Florida’s Surgeon General, has named 26 initial recipients of biomedical research grants totaling $8.05 million for projects scheduled to begin July 1, 2012.
It is hoped that these research projects will provide invaluable new insights to combat cancer and tobacco-related diseases in the years to come. In making these award determinations,
the Surgeon General accepted funding recommendations made by Florida’s Biomedical Research Advisory Council at its April 26-27 meeting in Tallahassee.
